Happy Easter

Hello, and Happy Easter Sunday. I thought for today, I'd check to see what festive, "Easter-type" ink colors I have available in my ink collection. Here's what I came up with:

The first one is my choice for an Easter reddish/pink (there are probably better choices out here; this is just from what I happen to have on hand at home): Noodler's Shah's Rose. It's a cheerful, unassuming sort of rose red color, and I can just see it on a hard-boiled Easter Egg. :-)

The second one is easily my favorite turquoise shade I've run across, and it was courtesy of my dear friend Barbara in New Zealand: Monteverde Caribbean Blue. It's affordable, and it's a lovely rich spring pastel blue color...and it sheens! The sheen is a great darker blue shade of the same blue tone. It'd be a great choice, if you were somehow predisposed to writing on a boiled egg with a fountain pen. :-)

The third one is my favorite purple ink amongst what inks I own: Noodler's Saguaro Wine. It's named after the bright purple fruit found on the top of the immense, towering saguaro cactus found in the American Southwest. You may be more familiar with it's more popular counterpart, Noodler's "Cactus Fruit Eel", which is the very same ink with an added lubricant to make it flow smoothly in drier pens. It'd be a festive, cheery purple for an Easter decoration.

Fourth: my bottle of DeAtramentis Gold. This is the second formulation of this shade; I believe DeAtramentis has now discontinued both versions. So far as I could tell, there was little visible difference between either one. There are lots of excellent yellow-ish or amber inks out there, my favorite being Kobe Arima Amber by Sailor (which I will soon have, courtesy of jetpens.com). Until it arrives, this is my choice for a fun yellow/amber ink for holiday use.

The last one is Montblanc Irish Green. No Easter color scheme would be complete without green! :-) I must thank Barbara for this ink as well; she generously provided it to me when we'd been trading pen-pal letters regarding our favorite green inks. This would look great in your Easter basket. :-)

I whipped up this goofy photo with a plain sheet of office copy paper, my trusty J. Herbin glass dip pen, and decorated it with the two Easter-themed rubber ink stamps I have (which I colored in with some Stabilo fine liner pens).

Feel free to comment or disagree with my choices in the comments. Do you have some favorite Easter or spring-season ink colors you use this time of the year... especially while you're trapped indoors during a global quarantine...?? Feel free to tell us all about them!

Happy Easter, and be safe!
